Fall is Here!

This time of year is absolutely beautiful in Michigan- FALL! Living in California we have always missed out on the 4 seasons, the seasons out there seem to be hot, hotter and wildfire. We have loved watching the leaves turn colors- orange, yellow and bright red. I drive around with a camera in my purse at all times and whenever I see a gorgeous tree I stop on the side of the road and take pictures HAHA. I wanted to share some of my favorites pictures and my favorite season with you all- Fall!!!

Brain Food!

My mom always makes chocolate covered pretzel sticks over the holidays, and Jeff LOVES them. They are always gone in a few minutes. Jeff has been doing a ton of studying lately for a big test and I thought he deserved a treat. I figured chocolate covered pretzels with red sprinkles would be the perfect brain food to keep him going. He loved them and i enjoyed a few too :)

Rosh Hashanah

L'Shana Tova to Everyone! Jeff and I knew we would be in Michigan for the High Holydays so we started looking up temples to attend services at. We found Congregation Shaarey Zedek in East Lansing, which is located just right around the corner from us- and they offer free tickets for students!! On Friday night we went to Erev Rosh Hashanah services and Saturday we went to morning and evening services. It is a beautiful temple, a little older but has a wonderful, colorful ark and tons of skylights thats just light up the room. Last year Jeff was on the island and I went to temple with his family so it was very special to be together on the holiday and get to finally go to services together. We miss our families very much and wish they could be here too!

Home Sweet Home

As many of you know i went to law school in Lansing, Michigan so when Jeff and I knew he would have a break from class before rotations and need a place to study we decided to come back. My parents and I bought a house when I was here for school and when I graduated we rented it out to a few students. They graduated in May and the house has been empty just waiting for us to return. It has been wonderful being back and its so nice having a ton of space all to ourselves. We invite you on a tour of our house...

On the Road Again

I can't believe the 4 months in Miami went by so fast! As soon as we were getting used to the apartment and becoming familiar with the city it was already time to leave. We were sad to leave Miami in general but we are definitely not going to miss the humidity (so gross), no left turn signals and the lack of parking. We are sad to leave our friends behind and its also hard leaving the first place we ever lived as husband and wife- I am very sentimental :) But very excited for the adventures to come! Our next adventure is Michigan. We left our apartment around 6am for the 2 day drive to Michigan- we were on the road again! We love Roadtrips!

Jeff and Maggie Moo all ready to go

Maggie loved sitting in the driver's lap

The car was SO full! Once we started getting everything together we realized we had too much stuff so we had to buy a net and put a few things on the roof

We stayed the first night in Alpharetta, Georgia with Jeff's cousins Layna and Josh and their 2 sons Noah and Copper. We had such a great time hanging out watching True Blood, eating true southern bbq and sweet tea! We can't wait to see them again. On the road again...

This pic is not the greatest but we finally arrived (It was late and rainy)! Michigan! We decided to stop in Monroe, Michigan and stay with our good friend Judy for the night. We got to spend time with Judy, her husband Kenny, Michelle and her son Max (the most adorable 2 year old). We drove the final 100 miles to East Lansing the next morning- home sweet home!

Supporting the Economy

We all know were in the middle of a recession, so while in Miami we decided to support the economy by visiting all of Miami's local bars! What a sacrifice! Here's some of my favorite photos from our favorite hang outs.

Happiest Place on Earth

As soon as I found out that Jeff and I were going to be living in Florida for a little while I knew that we had to make a trip to Disneyworld! I always loved living in Southern California because Disneyland was so close, but Disneyworld is even better- so many different parks! Jeff and I decided to go for his birthday. We chose to go to Magic Kingdom and the Hollywood Studios Park. We left our apartment in Miami around 5:00am and made the 4 hour drive to Orlando. I was so excited to see the Welcome to Disneyworld sign, I felt like a little kid again!!

We checked into our hotel, jumped on the Disney bus and headed to the Magic Kingdom. Everything looks very similar to Disneyland but "The World" is so much more spread out and some of the rides have tiny differences. The park wasn't as busy as we thought it would be and we got to ride everything we wanted- although Space Mountain was closed which was a bummer.

Jeff is having way too much fun!

The Birthday Boy!

We were exhausted from the drive and long day at Magic Kingdom BUT so ready to explore Hollywood Studios!! The park is a lot like Universal Studios- tons of behind the scenes and movie magic secrets. They had some of the best shows we have ever seen at an amusement park. A great car stunt show with all sorts of trick driving, car jumping, and chase scenes. I was super scared but we also went on Hollywood Tower of Terror and it ended up being a lot of fun (I still screamed the entire time haha).

Our Friend Mickey Mouse!

Muppet Vision 3D

We had a Fabulous mini-vacation! LOVE Disneyworld!!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame!

The Marlins might not be the greatest baseball team BUT going to the games is still tons of fun. While we were living in Florida we went to 2 Marlins game- 1 date night and 1 group outing. My favorite thing about baseball games is the food- Yum!! Especially the ice cream :)

Date Night Game! 10 rows behind home plate- so fun!

Scuba Buddies!

Jeff and I both became scuba certified when we were on vacation in Puerto Rico last year. Ever since, we love to scuba dive any chance we get- Belize, Dominica and now Miami! We got to dive in a wreck, it was so much fun swimming in and out of the sunken ship. Can't wait for more scuba adventures in the future with my scuba buddy!

Lil' Bro comes to Town

Miami is a city full of energy and tons of nightlife and when my brother came to visit we wanted to show him both. Matt and I went to Key West where we decided to take the adventurous mode of transportation- we rented Mopeds!! It was so much fun and the more time I spent on it the faster I wanted to go- vroom vroom. It was such a convenient way to see the entire island, we explored every inch.

To keep the adventure going Jeff, Matt and I decided to rent waverunners. We rode them in Biscayne Bay and saw all the beautiful homes on Star Island. Those things go really fast, Jeff even flew off at one point when he made a sharp turn :) but he was ok.

Enough adventure, it was time to dance the night away! A group of us decided to go to Mansion Nightclub in South Beach. We had VIP entrance and free drinks for an hour- it was awesome. My brother is an amazing dancer and we stayed on the dance floor the entire night.

For our next adventure we decided to go on SAFARI! Who knew they had a safari in Florida? It was a very cool place that some friends recommended called Lion Country Safari. You drive your own car through a 5 mile enclosure with all the animals running wild. They give you a CD to play that explains the regions you are going through and a little bit about each of the animals. We had rhinos and zebras crossing right in front in our car- it was surreal. We even got to feed some giraffes!

We also wanted to show Matt our favorite bar- Sunset Tavern. We met up with some friends for some farewell drinks! We loved having him visit and we hope he comes to visit wherever we live.
