Yum-O!!!

Work was running a promotion last month where the highest grossing sales team would get dinner at Capitol Grille, including riding there in style in a Limo!! As Office Manager I am very lucky to get to go along on all the fun promo outings. It was a blast, the people I work with have truly also become my friends! We ate SO much food!! Crab legs, oysters, lobster tails, shrimp cocktail, filet mignon, cheesy potatoes, lobster mac and cheese and coconut cream pie!! I was seriously full for 3 days.

Our Sweet Ride! We had so much drinking and jamming out to old school Michael Jackson on the way to and from dinner.

Brooklyn Bound

We hadn't seen Rich since in a few weeks so we headed down to Brooklyn to hang with the gang last weekend. We met up at Rich's apartment and then headed out to meet everyone for some delicious Mexican food and Margaritas!!

Lori and I sharing our "Lovers Margarita" with 2 straws!!

Nick, Jeff and Rich being goofy, as usual :)

Lori, Kristen and I.

We told our waiter it was Kristens birthday (which it wasn't) and they went all out. They turned out all the lights in the restaurant, turned on some flashing blue lights and blasted Happy Birthday through the speakers! They also brought her a Sombrero!! We had the whole place clapping and singing along.

After dinner everyone went back to Kyle and Kristens place to enjoy the gorgeous view from their rooftop!! I would sit outside all day long if this was my view- the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building!

The next morning we enjoyed some NY Bagels then headed out for the day. Rich had a friend visiting from Miami, so we dropped them off at the Intrepid Museum to do some sightseeing. I was craving some Pinkberry so we headed over to Columbus Circle to chow down. We ended up finding a great parking spot and realized we were only 1 block from Central Park, so we grabbed Maggie and had a Pinkberry picnic in the park.

Gorgeous Day

Getting some scratches and loving

Maggie loved Central Park- she would just sit and watch all the people, chase a few birds, bark at other dogs and lounge in the sun

Mad About Mystic!

Jeff and I have both been working really hard so when Jeff finished his OB/GYN rotation we wanted to spend some relaxing time together. We went to Mystic, CT. It is located right on the Long Island Sound with gorgeous views of the water and a cute little village to walk around in. Our first stop was to get some lunch at Mystic Pizza, the pizza parlor that launched the idea behind the movie Mystic Pizza with Julia Roberts. Apparently, the screenwriter summered in Mystic, CT and loved their "Slice of Heaven."

The pizza was delicious- really flavorful sauce!

We took a walk around downtown Mystic, went into the little shops, enjoyed the view, and had ice cream under the Mystic Drawbridge

Next stop- Mystic Aquarium, since Jeff and I are scuba divers we love anywhere where we can see tons of underwater animals. We even got to pet rays and sand sharks!

Sea Lions!

Penguins!

The cutest Belluga Whale!

After a long day of sightseeing it was time for dinner. Since we were right on the shore lobster was the perfect choice. We went to Abbott's Lobster in the Rough. We ordered some steamed mussells, clams, clam chowder, a lobster roll and a whole lobster! We grabbed a table right by the water and chowed down, it was the perfect ending to a fabulous day.

Our tasty lobster!! We can't wait to go back very soon!

Shabbat

Two weeks ago we went to our cousins house for Shabbat dinner. We go to their house all the time for Shabbat but this week was extra special because the weather was so gorgeous that we could finally have Shabbat out on the deck. We had homemade challah, fresh flowers from the garden, wine and tons of food. Our cousin Liz was also home for the weekend from NYC! As we were finishing up dinner we even saw some bats flying around the backyard, that doesn't happen in CA!

Shabbat on the deck- such a beautiful night :)

Eating some challah with our cousin Olivia

The next night we celebrated Zeydes birthday with the family at J.Gilberts. It was so delicious- crab bisque, calamari, steak and ice cream!! Thank you to Baba and Zeyde for treating us all to a wonderful meal. We had our own private room and it was a great time!

So, as usual we spent the entire weekend EATING!! I was so full, but so happy :)

Future Mrs. Joyce!

Renee is getting married in a few weeks so we got together for a fabulous girls weekend to celebrate. Jenn and I also happen to be bridesmaids so we worked together to plan a DC getaway. We spent the first night just relaxing, and after a long work week and traveling it was perfect! We all put on our pj's, ordered pizza (and chocolate lava cake) and just talked and talked for hours. I have never been to DC before so we woke up early on Saturday and set out to see the sights! I cant even begin to describe how in love I am with the city- amazing! Our first stop was to the National Archives where we were able to see the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. I was in awe- these are items you grew up learning about and to actually be staring down at them was surreal.

'

We then made our way around the mall stopping at the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, WWII Memorial, Washington Monument and the Supreme Court. Whew!! We must have walked a good 7 miles!

We headed home, got all glammed up and went out for dinner, drinks and dancing. The next morning we went out for a lovely Sunday Brunch at the Carlisle Hotel and then went shopping.
