Happily Ever After

I know we got married about 4 months ago, but we just started this blog and what a better first post than our wedding! We officially became Mr. and Mrs. Siegler on May 2, 2009 at Miramonte Resort in Indian Wells, California. We had a beautiful sunset ceremony with all of our family and friends. The whole day was amazing and much more than I ever dreamed. We were so fortunate to have family and friends fly in from all over the U.S. to spend the weekend with us.

We started the weekend off with a wonderful rehearsal dinner friday night. Jeff's parents rented out an Italian restaurant and it was delicious - we had one of my favorite desserts TIRAMISU! There was a special surprise when we arrived - it was dinner and a show! All of the servers were opera and broadway singers that put on a great performance throughout the evening. We presented all of our bridesmaids and groomsmen with some gifts and gave our parents each a personalized ketubah. Then it was off to bed for the BIG DAY (but not until I shared some champagne with Mo).

Jeff and I spent the morning of the wedding relaxing and each getting ready with our bridal parties. The girls sipped mimosas and got our hair and makeup done, while the boys hung out and helped put together the chuppah. At around 4 pm Jeff and I met on the balcony for the big reveal and to start taking our pictures. I remember walking out and seeing Jeff turn around and look at me, I couldn't stop crying (happy tears) and smiling all at the same time. He looked so handsome! We took all of our couple pictures, bridesmaid & groomsmen photos and family pics- 808 photos in all!!

Our guests started to arrive for cocktail hour where they enjoyed mini potato latkes, artichoke beignets, other delicious appetizers and plenty of drinks (including the special Siegler Sangria!) As the sun started to set the guests were seated in front of the chuppah and the quartet began to play. Jeff was escorted down the aisle by his parents and i walked down the aisle with my mom and dad. The rabbi started out by reading stories and feelings that Jeff and I had each written about each other- it was amazing! It was one of the most personal and heartfelt ceremonies ever- we then recited our vows in hebrew and the rabbi said a few blessings for our marriage. Then the big moment- THE FIRST KISS and breaking of the glass- we are officially Mr. and Mrs. Siegler.

On to the reception- party time! We spent the rest of the night eating, dancing, and hanging out with friends and family. Highlights- red velvet cake, first dance to Michael Buble 'Everything', being lifted on chairs for the Hava Nagila, listening to speeches and changing into my sexy reception dress. It was SO much fun and more than I could have ever dreamed (special thanks to my mom and dad and Jeff's parents). The best part is starting our lives together as husband and wife, I feel so lucky.

We concluded the weekend with a delicious brunch Sunday morning. All of our friends and family got together to hang out again before everyones flights/drives home. It was a perfect way to end a beautiful weekend in the desert!
