The next day we went on a Hurricane Katrina Bus Tour. It was absolutely shocking to see how much devastation there still is this many years after Katrina. Tons of people are still without power, some are still living in their FEMA trailers, and hospitals and businesses are still closed. They showed us where the levies broke and drove us through all of the most affected neighborhoods.
I wasn't too excited about having to get back in the car the next morning but we still had a day and a half drive before we would arrive in MIAMI. We spent our last night in Ocala, Florida- we were finally almost there. After a 5 hour drive the Miami skyline came into view! So much larger than i thought it would be, and most of the buildings are white, blue and green- very beachy! We met up with the realtor and she gave us the keys to our first apartment. I had found the apartment online so i was a little nervous but it ended up being amazing- awesome location and pretty big. After traveling the 10 from Indian Wells, CA to Miami, FL for 2700 miles we were home sweet home.
